The KISS project, an acronym for Kenya, India, South Africa, and Sierra Leone, is a research initiative titled "Spatialising Climate Impacts on Health: A Focus on Vulnerable Settlements in Megacities of the Global South." This project is part of the Sierra Leone Urban Research Centre's (SLURC) Urban Health and Wellbeing research program. It aims to address the significant knowledge gap concerning the social determinants of health in informal settlements. By moving beyond purely spatial, GIS-oriented assessments of health services and infrastructure, the project seeks to develop targeted and effective policies and interventions that address health issues in these communities, which are primary drivers of urban risk and vulnerability.
